As part of the project “Kazakhstan: Strategic Risk Assessment on the Strategic Road Network” a training on the international safety assessment system iRAP implementation in Kazakhstan was held from May 22 to May 26 in Almaty and Astana with the participation of experts Luke Rogers (Australia) and Jigesh Bhavsar (India). Representatives of various road safety organizations took part in the training: Committee for Roads MIID RK, JSC “NC “KazAvtoZhol”, RSE “National Quality Center of Road Assets”, Kazakh Automobile and Road Institute named after L. Goncharov.
The training program included five modules on the methodology of international road assessment: road surveys with a visit to the section “Otar-Uzynagash”, road parameters coding, assignment of a star rating of roads and analysis of results.
