Arystan Massanov, Director of the Kazakh Scientific Research Institute for Road Safety (KazSRIRS) and member of the International Road Federation (IRF) Technical Committee on Road Safety, took part in the IRF Fellows Reunion Reception held on January 13, 2026, in Washington, D.C. (USA).
The event brought together members of the IRF Fellows community—leading international experts and professionals in the field of road infrastructure, transport policy, and road safety. The meeting became a significant platform for informal but meaningful professional communication, exchange of experience, and discussion of current global trends and challenges in the development of the road industry.
Participation in the IRF Fellows Reunion provided an opportunity to discuss modern systemic and risk-based approaches to improving road safety, developing sustainable and safe road infrastructure, and integrating science-based solutions into road safety management practices. Particular attention was paid to the role of international expert communities and technical committees in shaping recommendations and standards in the field of road safety.
KazSRIRS considers participation in IRF events and the work of its representatives in the Federation’s technical committees to be an important element of international cooperation aimed at knowledge transfer, adaptation of best international practices, and improving the effectiveness of road safety solutions in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
