Kazakhstan and the US join forces on road safety

On 16 January 2026, a Memorandum of Understanding between the Kazakh Scientific Research Institute for Road Safety and the University of Central Florida was signed at the University of Central Florida (UCF, USA).

The document was signed by KazSRIRS Director Arystan Massanov and the leadership of UCF Global. The Memorandum lays the foundation for long-term cooperation in road safety research.

Under the agreement, the parties agreed to develop cooperation in key areas, including joint research and the exchange of scientific materials, data and knowledge.

The signing of the Memorandum was an important step in the internationalisation of Kazakhstani science and the integration of KazSRIRS into the global research community.

Partnership with one of the leading engineering universities in the US opens up new opportunities for knowledge transfer and for introducing advanced international road safety practices in Kazakhstan.
