He took part as an affiliate member of the Transportation Research Board (TRB), which operates under the US National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. This status entitles him to ongoing professional involvement in TRB activities, including the work of technical committees and expert groups.
The focus was on the work of these committees: • ACD11 - systemic transport safety management and Safety Management Systems • AHB25 - crash data analysis, performance indicators and data-driven road safety decisions
Taking part made it possible to: - become familiar with current international research; - discuss modern data-driven approaches to road safety management; - establish professional contacts with leading TRB experts; - signal readiness to make further expert contributions.
The experience gained and international engagement lay the groundwork for developing the national road safety system and adapting global best practice in Kazakhstan.
