On 23 June 2025, a strategic meeting was held in Shymkent with iRAP international experts Luke Rogers and Julio Urzua, organised by the Shymkent City Department of Passenger Transport and Roads and Kazakh Scientific Research Institute for Road Safety LLP (KazSRIRS) as part of developing the Road Safety Strategy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. 📌 Key areas of cooperation discussed: ✅ Road assessment and rating using the iRAP methodology ✅ Safety inspection and audit of projects ✅ Risk mapping and analysis of crash clusters ✅ Development of an investment plan and effective countermeasures ✅ Introduction of a systemic approach and the Vision Zero concept ✅ Safety assessment of routes to school (SR4S) 🤝 The meeting included a round table with representatives of local authorities, the Administrative Police Directorate of the Shymkent City Department of Internal Affairs, local transport services and experts, which identified priority steps to reduce road crashes in the city. 🌍 We thank all participants and continue to move towards our main goal - zero deaths on the roads! 📨 For cooperation enquiries: qazaqrsa@gmail.com 🔗 More details: https://kazrap.kz
