SCIENTISTS FROM KAZAKHSTAN AND EXPERTS FROM SWEDEN ARE WORKING TOGETHER ON SAFETY STANDARDS

Under an assignment from the Committee for Roads of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a draft departmental standard, "Road Safety Procedures", is being developed.

As part of this work, on 13 March 2024 the Kazakh Scientific Research Institute for Road Safety LLP took part in a road safety workshop. The event, which brought together specialists from Sweden and Kazakhstan, was a significant step towards ensuring road safety.

This important event highlights not only the commitment of Kazakhstani scientists to improving national road safety standards, but also the global safety initiative represented by Vision Zero. Organised by the Swedish Transport Administration, the event provided a platform for sharing experience and transferring best practice between the two countries.

The main objective of the meeting was to develop strategies and action plans aimed at reducing crashes and saving lives on the roads. High-level subject-matter speakers from the Swedish Transport Administration and the Vision Zero Academy shared their knowledge and experience, presenting successful practices and innovative approaches.

The workshop participants discussed road safety management, preventive methods used by law enforcement agencies, and road design features that help create safe infrastructure.
