A Kazakhstani delegation made up of representatives of the Kazakhstan National Association of Professional Engineers and Consultants, the Kazakh Scientific Research Institute for Road Safety LLP and KazdorNII JSC is taking part in Lifesavers, the largest annual road safety conference in the USA, held in Seattle this year for the 41st time. The conference runs from 2 to 4 April, and its speakers include leading scientists from American universities, representatives of the Federal Government and state Departments of Transportation, as well as practitioners and activists.
Scientists are sharing the results of their latest research: some findings have already led to decisions and action by the governments of certain states, while other studies have only just been published. Public servants and policymakers who make decisions are sharing successful cases of reducing road deaths and injuries, while also discussing the main problems and obstacles that do not always allow the desired results to be achieved.
Being there and hearing about the latest advances first-hand is a unique opportunity for Kazakhstani specialists to adopt and trial innovations in our country, as road safety problems and their consequences are pressing in the USA, in Kazakhstan and globally.
