Kazakhstan's first toll section opened six years ago. This year their number has reached four. All toll roads are equipped with modern toll plazas. To pass through a toll plaza quickly and safely, you need to follow a few simple rules.
First, choose the lane you need. Pay attention to the road signs and digital displays above the lanes. There are dedicated lanes for lorries. Lanes for prepaid vehicles are also marked in green.
Second, remember the traffic rules. When approaching a toll plaza, drivers must slow down gradually in line with the road signs. Do not forget to keep a safe distance of 10 metres. If vehicles are any closer, this not only creates a hazardous situation but can also cause the vehicle to be classified incorrectly. The condition of a vehicle's number plates also plays an important role in how quickly it gets through the toll plaza. Please remember that they must be clean and not deformed.
Third, arrange payment in advance. A traffic light and a display are installed on the approach to the payment terminal. Once the system has read the number plate, the display shows 3 fields: the vehicle number, the amount due and the account balance. If you have prepaid and the account balance is positive, the traffic light turns green and the barrier opens. If the account has not been topped up in advance, you can pay either in cash (notes or coins) or by bank card. In this case, the barrier opens once the fiscal receipt has been issued.
